Plasma Ball Controls Nearby Touch Lamp

Buy video

I recently received this plasma ball as a gift and while trying to add some light to my room I came across this phenomenon. The lamp normally turns on when you touch the metal base of it and it has 3 brightness settings that it cycles through when you touch it. I noticed once I set up my plasma ball that if it was in close proximity to the lamp that touching the plasma ball done the same things as touching the base of the lamp. FYI the lamp doesn't have any motion sensor you actually have to touch it to switch it on and start the cycle.
