It’s currently summer in Australia and what better way to cool down than having fun in a lagoon frolicking around with your homemade watercraft. 

Footage shows Mikalah and her cousin Jordan, both 12, using inflatable ski tubes, car batteries and other materials to build their very own bumper boats. 

''Although the bumper boats didn’t work as well as hoped for, as they were very difficult to steer and were quite unbalanced, the kids still had fun with them,'' Michaela’s dad wrote online.

Mikalah (age 12) and her cousin Jordan (age 12) used Inflatable ski tubes, plywood, timber, screws, electric outboards and car batteries to build their very own bumper boats.
It’s currently summer in Australia and what better way to cool down then having fun down at the local lagoon frolicking around with your homemade water crafts.
Although the bumper boats didn’t work as well as hoped for, as they were very difficult to steer and were quite unbalanced, the kids still had fun with them.
To build the bumper boats they first had to mark and cut a circular disk from a sheet of plywood. A cut piece of timber was then screwed to the centre and a hole drilled through the middle. The disk was then put in the bottom of the tube which was then inflated. A hole was then poked through the ski tube fabric using a heated pipe. The shaft from the electric outboard was then poked up through the base and a steering arm fitted. Finally a battery was added and wired into place.
