The day they found the first humpback whale dead in Guatemala.
Astonishment caused the inhabitants of Guatemala the location of a dead humpback whale calf on the beaches located in the south of this country, something unusual happened in January 2018 that is believed to have been due to the degree of contamination of the coasts of the Pacific Ocean.
On that occasion authorities suspected that the death could have been confusing plastics as food, having a disease or maybe having been hit by a boat.
Whales arrive to the Pacific coast of Guatemala, from the north pole, in search of food, as well as coming to reproduce, so it is common to see these species, which are affected by the pollution of the seas and neglect of fishermen in the area.
El día que encontraron la primera ballena jorobada muerta en Guatemala.
Asombro causó a pobladores de Guatemala la localización de una cría de ballena jorobada muerta en las playas ubicadas al sur de este país, algo insólito ocurrido en enero del 2018 que se cree puedo haber sido por el grado de contaminación de las costas del mar pacífico.
En esa ocasión autoridades sospecharon que la muerte pudo haber sido el confundir plásticos como alimento, tener alguna enfermedad o a lo mejor haber sido golpeado por alguna embarcación.
Las ballenas llegan hasta las costas del pacífico de Guatemala, desde el polo norte, en busca de alimento, así como el de venirse a reproducirse, por lo que es común ver a esta especies, que están sido afectadas por la contaminación de los mares y descuido de pescadores de la zona.
