A resident of the pumpkin village of Agam, West Sumatra, Indonesia, was surprised by the presence of a male Estuarine crocodile, estimated to be 7 years old and 4 meters long, on a community oil palm plantation.

Ade puta of an animal rescue officer in the province of BKSDA West Sumatra said, male crocodiles will be on guard around the nest where crocodiles lay eggs so that crocodile eggs are not disturbed from other animals when the female goes foraging, this is because male crocodiles are loyal to their partners .

"This crocodile is an estuarine crocodile male sex, its nesting nest is 500 meters from the estuary of the village coast of Pelabuhan and is 300 meters from residential areas, this crocodile will not move because it keeps its nest of eggs from interference from other animals" said Ade Putra .

The presence of this crocodile was known by residents who wanted to go to his oil palm plantation who saw a crocodile which was immediately reported to the animal rescue officer in the province of West Sumatra.

Estimated eggs - the crocodile eggs will hatch 60-70 days ahead.
