Hundreds of demonstrators, many wearing yellow vests, marched through central London on Saturday to call for a general election.

Crowds were seen wearing the vests bearing slogans such as “Britain is Broken."

Some also voiced their support for migrants and refugees.

The event, which was organised by The People’s Assembly Against Austerity, comes ahead of a crucial parliament vote on Tuesday on Theresa May's Brexit deal.

Rival pro-Brexit groups also turned out and two sides were filmed clashing briefly close to Trafalgar Square.

Broken Britain was the theme of the Peoples assembly march and speakers rally:
as the austerity measures taken by the conservative government have stripped social services down to almost nothing with local councils begging for support ,selling property stock . the mood is a fraught tension filled in Britain for many groups on the march austerity is too severe and a punishing regime to endure. add the brexit deal maneuverings which is a nothing short of shambolic as no opposition want to further punish the people with a lack of workers rights or union recgonition. . with no more freedom of people in Europe , the transfer of factories over the uncertainty over UK decision to leave the largest trade organisation. shortly after the rally closed the far right made there presence felt , interesting times for the country .
