This is the terrifying moment a 6ft long King Cobra is caught after getting stuck under a wooden door.

The deadly serpent terrified children who were playing outside a home in Chachoengsao, Thailand, on December 23.

Rescuers arrived and found the snake, which had slithered away in its bid to escape and become stuck under the blue door.

Incredible footage just a few inches from the snake's notoriously menacing black hood shows how it aggressively reared up towards the wildlife workers trying to capture it.

The reptile - capable of killing a man with one bite - was eventually dragged out from under the door and stuffed into a sack.

The owner of the house, Yutotna Phansukhon, 57, said: ''I was inside and there were Cambodia children playing outside in the street. I heard them all shouting and screaming so went out to look.

''They said they had seen a big cobra. I looked around the yard and could see it hiding behind a bench.

''When the rescuers arrived it tried to get away under the gap in the door but they caught. I'm relieved they took it away. I would not want a cobra on the loose near my house.''
