People's Vote rally in Parliament Square on 15 January 2019, on the day of the crucial Commons Vote on Theresa May's Brexit deal. Though People's Vote is a movement that represents a nationwide cross-section of the British society, it is a largely pro-European movement. With a sea of the EU flags flying over Parliament Square, one of the speakers - Stephen Gethins SNP MP, said: "I will not vote tonight to make us poorer. I will not vote tonight to make us more unfair, unhealthier. And I will not vote tonight to make those of of us, who happened to have a different European passport, second class citizens.... I've been absolutely appalled and disgusted about the way people have been treated: to pay 60 quid to stay in your own home... That is not on tonight, friends. And this deal is not on tonight either...". Stephen Gethins MP called on the audience in Parliament Square to campaign for People's Vote.
