Footage shows youngsters taking part in a super-fun village fair competition - shimmying along a pole before trying to knock each other off into the water.


The sports-day style event sees the teenage contestants don Muay Thai boxing gear before clambering onto the beam and trading blows with the opponent.


Villagers were cheering on the youngsters at the fun event at a local water sports day at Mae Yom subdistrict, Phrae Province, northern Thailand on 20th January.


Each contestant has to try their best to put their opponent down into the water by punching, kicking, and wrestling while they had to keep themselves in balance on a pole in order to win.


Ngern Junpratu, Chief Executive of the Mae Yom Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO), said that members of the SAO were overwhelmed to see many people participate in the water sports day this year.

He said: ''This water sports day aims to encourage people of Mae Yom subdistrict to exercise and collaborate with others. It is also the event that only held in Phrae, so we are glad to see more visitors come to visit our subdistrict and enjoy the moment.''
