A dramatic video has emerged of a truck driver almost risking his life to avoid hitting a stray cow that was crossing the road near Junagadh in the west Indian state of Gujarat.

The CCTV footage shows the cow crossing the road when a truck zoomed down. The quick-thinking driver applied the brake so hard that the truck’s rear wheels swivelled 180 degree before coming to a screeching halt.

The impact was so hard that the rear end of the truck turned around. However, the driver managed to bring the vehicle under control in time. The truck stood in exact opposite position it was moving, kudos to the skills of the driver.

The cow seemed really confused and numbed by the oncoming danger as the truck seemed to come towards it. Panicked, the bovine tried to run away to avoid getting mowed down by the speeding truck.

Not only the cow, but a white hatchback car right behind the truck also could have been hit by the truck if the driver failed to pull off the feat and stop the truck in its track.
