First glimpse of the sun after long polar night in Norway
First day we could se the sun after it’s been gone since november 22, 2018, due to polar night time in Hammerfest, North Norway.
After a long winter, with the sun been under the horisone, since november 22, 2018, due to polar nights above the polare circel, we finally could see the sun back in the town of Hammerfest, where i live. This is in northern Norway. Me and my friend Aina took our dogs for a walk, trying to find and see the sun after it’s been gone so long. This was on a little mountain in the middle of Hammerfest on january 25, 2019, around 12.00 pm. I, Eirin Hagerupsen was filming with my IPhone 7. It was so beautiful with the contrast between the sun, the snow and the wind blowing the snow. Hammerfest is actually called the northemost town in the world. We have polare nights between november 22-january 20 every year, and we have midnight sun between may 16-july 27 every year, and that means that the sun is up 24 hours in that period.
