An eager husky in Dubuque, Iowa couldn't wait for the weather to pass and snuck out to go play in the polar vortex raging across the northern US yesterday (January 29).

Gracie the husky was undeterred by temperatures falling to minus 18 degrees Celsius (one degree Fahrenheit), and snuck out under the fence in her owner's house.

Her owner commented: "[She] makes sure no one is watching and makes a break for it! So much for me staying warm! I had to hurry up and go capture her."

It is only 1 degree outside and my eager husky Gracie has been wanting to play outside all day! I refuse to go out in the cold with her so I observe from the window. She first checks to see if she can go under the fence because that's how she has been getting out lately (but my husband just fixed that escape route last week) she then makes sure no one is watching and makes a break for it! So much for me staying warm! I had to hurry up and go capture her.
