A groom in India had to walk nearly 10kms in heavy snow to attend his wedding ceremony.

Swati of Lohali village was engaged to marry Amol of Bathri panchayat near Dalhousie in North India, on January 26.

The day before the wedding a heavy snowfall hit the area, prompting the closure of all vehicular roads.

Many suggested that it would be wise to put off the wedding to another date.

But deeply in love and undeterred, Amol decided to trek for 10km in sub-zero temperature to reach his bride's village.

He was joined by his family, relatives and friends all of who walked in deep snow and made it on time for the pre-wedding ceremony on January 25.

After the wedding, the couple decided to return again on foot.

Bidding her family farewell, Swati walked back with Amol to her new home stopping along the way to take spectacular selfies in the beautiful winter scenery.
