A massive fire broke out at the popular Hyderabadi annual industrial exhibition known as the Numaish triggering panic among thousands of visitors in India. The incident happened on 30th January 2019 at around nine in the night.

The fire started due to short-circuit at a private bank's stall which spread to nearby areas rapidly consuming at least 200 stalls one by one.

Hundreds of temporary stalls were consumed as several lakhs of property went up in flames.

People ran away in panic as far as they could. Fire-fighter trucks switched on their siren and rushed down to the spot in seconds. Almost 100 firefighters were involved in tending the fire. A firefighter was also injured while trying to douse the fire.

There were no casualties but the fire caused immense damage to the property.

Numaish began in 1938 during the rule of the last Nizam of Hyderabad. Since then the exhibition is being observed every year aiming to promote the locally made goods. The ground that caught fire is spread across 23 acres of land and the fair is hosted for a period of more than 45 days.
