CCTV camera has captured the horrific moment a speeding car rammed into two pedestrians and ran without stopping by to help the victims.

The incident occurred in Rajkot in Gujarat, India.

In the video footage, a busy road can be seen with several vehicles plying on it.

Suddenly a car appears in the camera frame as it carries two people on its bonnet and knocks them on the ground. The driver then speeds away immediately to escape the wrath of the people.

The injured which includes a man and a woman are seen flying up in the air as the speeding vehicle hits them.

The duo falls unconscious as a woman can be seen running towards them to help both of them.

A few road users who also see the woman trying to help the victims stop their vehicles and come forward to assist the lady.

The lady then stops an auto-rickshaw and carries both of them to the hospital.

The woman victim is said to have died in the hospital while the man is still fighting for his life and the doctors have termed his condition as 'critical.'

The police are investigating the matter and examining the CCTV footage to arrest the rogue driver.

Hit and run is a serious punishable offence in India.
