Cheeky monkey steals mobile phone at Indonesia zoo
An amusing video has emerged of a monkey stealing a tourist’s mobile phone at a zoo in Indonesia.
The footage, captured by a visitor to Tamam Safari Park near Bogor in West Java, shows the monkey gripping the smartphone through the bars of its cage and refusing to let go.
Staff at the park tried to retrieve the phone by hitting it out of the monkey’s hands but, according to the filmer, were only successful when they offered food in exchange for the gadget.
“A girl wanted to take a picture of the monkey but it quickly took her mobile” the filmer wrote online.
“In the end the screen broke and the mobile split in two – the monkey got the back cover and the screen fell into bushes next to the cage.”
