Footage has emerged of waves pounding against a newly repaired railway line in Dawlish, Devon, UK on Thursday.

The video shows large waves crashing against the sea wall and washing over the track, as hurricane force winds hit the region.

An 80m stretch of the wall was destroyed last winter, leaving parts of the southwest without train services.

Met Office forecasters recorded a wind speed of 93mph at Berry Head, near Brixham, in Devon on Thursday.
