Doctors in India conducted an operation to remove a lollipop plastic stick from a baby girl's stomach.

Footage captured on January 26 shows a doctor using an endoscope to reach the area in the stomach in which the stick got stuck and then pulling the piece of plastic out with a pair of tweezers.

It took doctors 15 minutes to retrieve the plastic stick that could have led to health complications for the baby if not removed in time.

Dr Pankaj Nemade Gastroenterologist said: ''The case was challenging in view of delicate intestines as the patient was a baby and these cases have to be performed under anaesthesia.''

''It was dangerous for baby as the stick could have perforated her intestine.''

''It is necessary for parents to keep a close watch on children.''

Jayshree, mother of one year old girl was feeding Lollipop to her baby. During this time, a phone call came to her & She started talking, so the baby swallowed the entire lollipop. After some time Jayashree came and she did not see the lollipop in the child hand. The small baby started crying seeing this her mother rushed her to the nearby government hospital, where on X-ray was done & it was found that the lollipop's plastic pipe was found in the stomach of the baby girl. After that, they took the girl to the private hospital, where doctors with the help of Endoscopy pulled out the stuck Lollipop plastic stick from the baby's stomach.

Dr Pankaj Nemade Gastroenterologist said The case was challenging in view of delicate intestines as baby was very small.. and these cases have to be performed under anaesthesia. It took us 15 min to retrieve the stick and it was dangerous for baby as the stick was hard and it could have perforated the intestine and could lead to lethal complications if not tackled in time.
He further added  It is necessary for parents to keep a close watch on children as in today's busy life these cases due to parental negligence are increasing.

The incident happened on 24 January & endoscopy done on 26 January in Pune Maharashtra India.
