A woman working at a government office in Pekanbaru, Riau, western Indonesia, was injured after her smartphone exploded in her hand while she was making a call on Monday (February 4).

The woman, Nevi Artika, 27, received facial injuries when her phone exploded while being charged at her desk as she picked it up to make a call. She can be seen in CCTV footage immediately getting up and running away, before fainting and being rushed to hospital by colleagues.

She was taken to Awal Bros Hospital, where she was treated for lacerations to her face.

The incident occurred on Monday morning, February 4, 2019, at around 11:00 WIB at the Riau Diskominfo Office, Riau Governor's Office complex, Jl Sudirman, pekanbaru city, Riau province, Indonesia. the victim named Netia was 27 years old, who was a temporary employee at the Dinas officeCommunication of Information and Statistics (Disominfo and Statistics) of Riau Provincial Government, which suffered facial injuries.
