Good Samaritans rescue young Swamp deer from well in Madhya Pradesh

A few good Samaritans rescued a young female swamp deer from a well in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The operation was recorded on camera.

According to the footage, a man is seen climbing down the well using its wall cavity. Later, it shows two people lassoing an animal.

Subsequent clips show people pulling out the animal in what is later seen as a swamp deer. The men in the video are heard saying to one another about taking extra care while pulling the deer out of the well.

Once out, they comfort the animal and later frees her from the lasso.

Swamp deer or barashingha, as it is known in India, is an endangered species. They are mainly found in the Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh.

A male swamp deer is known for its distinctive antlers.
