A bizarre selection of rare inventions and installations were displayed at Bangkok Design Week in Thailand on February 1, 2019.

More than 400,000 people around the city attended the festival - the most famous art and design event in the country.

The fair included the design and product exhibitions, the talks, and the installations which reflected the potential and creativity of artists and designers in Bangkok and other cities around Thailand.

Most artworks and designs were inspired by the local tradition which attracted both old and young generations to learn more about the cultural background in the particular area.

One visitor said that she always came to see the Bangkok Design Week every year to see the new inventions and ideas of Thai artists.

She said: ''I’m personally an art lover. I come here every year to witness the fresh and creative mind of people through their artwork.''

''I like Bangkok Design Week because it gives Thai artists and designers the opportunity to show off their abilities.''

Bangkok Design Week was annually organised in the old Bangkok neighbourhoods - Charoenkrung, Klong San, Talad Noi - to reflect the harmonisation of the traditional and modern way of life of Bangkok for one week.

The fair included the design and product exhibitions, the talks, and the installations which reflected the potential and creativity of artists and designers in Bangkok and other cities around Thailand.
