This is the moment a vicious bout of road rage erupted between two drivers on a busy London road last Sunday (February 3).

The hurling of abuse back and forth between lanes came after a lack of indication and awareness from the Mercedes driver, when drivers from both lanes were trying to merge.

After the verbal bout which was sealed with a hand gesture from the Volkswagen driver, traffic progressed and the threats turned into dangerous driving.

Both cars attempted to impede the other by brake-checking each other and swerving across lanes mindlessly, putting other road users in danger.

The footage was captured on Woolwich New Road.
