July 2018 Flood in Manitou Springs CO at the Cliffhouse Hotel
This happened on July 23, 2018, in the small mountain town of Manitou Springs, Colorado. I was picking my friend up from work at the Cliffhouse Hotel when this storm kind of appeared out of nowhere. The skys turned dark, the town tornado sirens sounded, downtown was evacuated. Hail fell in droves, and a wall of water began to run down the mountain flooding parts of town, this being one of the main flooding sites. It took a while to get out once the storm passed. I pulled my phone out to record this footage right as the storm was starting to climax and the water came. It was already planned, but I left Colorado the next day, not being sure which day that week I would depart.
