Injured elephant is rescued from mud pit by combined effort from farmers and officials
An elephant was injured following an intense fight between two raging elephants as they battle it out for dominance and control over the territory.During the battle one of the elephant left leg was injured.Unable to walk further the elephant stuck in the mud.
The incident took place at Uhana in Ampara. Villagers informed the wild life officers in Ampara about the incident. Upon receiving the call the wild life officers arrived at Uhana and provided treatment to the elephant.After the initial treatments the wild life officials with the help of villager tried to lift the elephant.But due to the severeness of the injury the elephant couldn't stand on his legs.The elephant is currently getting treatment at the nearby camp.
