An intelligent baby elephant fed itself during morning feeding time by grabbing a milk bottle using its trunk and guzzling down the drink.

The amazing moment was captured on January 20, during a viewing of the baby elephants' play and feeding time at the David Sheldrick Trust Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Trust takes in animals orphaned from poaching, human conflict or nature and releases them into the wild when they are ready.

This video was taken in January 2019 at the David Sheldrick Trust Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya. We visited the morning viewing when the baby elephants run out from their stockades for their mid morning bottle feed and play time. This elephant decided they wanted to feed themselves!

This Trust was founded by Dame Daphne Sheldrick and they take in baby elephants and even the odd rhino and giraffe that have been orphaned from poaching, human conflict or nature and look after and nurture them for many years until they feel ready to integrate back into the wild.
