Cow with head stuck in fence, rescued by passersby in southern India
A bovine which had gotten itself entangled into a fence, was rescued by a group of men in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The incident was captured on camera by the men in Erode town.
The video shows the cow struggling to get itself free from a fenced after its head got stuck in it.
It is believed that the quadruped had stuck its head in the fence in order to get some grass. However, its big horns prevented the animal from getting free of the fence.
A few passersby spotted the distressed animal and decided to help it out.
At first, they tried pulling it out, but upon realising that the same could break its horns and injure the animal, one rescuer decided to strategically get the horns out of the fence, thus freeing the animal.
The patient cow was rewarded at last. It also kept a cool head throughout the rescue operation, which aided the task.
Once free, the animal was seen resuming its task of finding food.
Earlier on Monday, a baby elephant let out distress call after it fell into a hole dug by government officials in Odisha. The calf was rescued in the morning by the locals.
