A young woman in New Delhi who was knocked from a highway overpass after a traffic accident landed on the road below, only to miraculously survived the terrifying fall.

The woman, identified as Sapna and in her 20s, escaped with only minor fractures was riding on a bike with her friends on February 18, when the three of them were hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Vikaspuri flyover.

The impact threw her two friends into the highway barricade, while Sapna was flung into the air only to fall 20 feet off the elevated highway and onto the road beneath.

A traffic CCTV camera caught Sapna crashing to the ground missing a parked sedan narrowly. A helmet also fell from the flyover and rolled over.

The trio were rushed to a hospital and all three are recovering.

Police have filed a hit and run case against the unknown vehicle.

The impact was the crash was such the rider Kunal and first pillion rider Jia hit the barricade, while Sapna was flung into the air only to fall 20ft off the flyover and underneath the road.
