Plastic pollution on a river in Cumbria
Footage shows black plastic hanging off a barbed wire fence on the small river of Hoff Beck in the Eden Valley Cumbria.
Many of the rivers the beautiful Eden Valley are spoilt by this type of plastic pollution which is mainly from farming practices such as big baling their silage which involves wrapping it in large amounts of black plastic and leaving it stacked in a corner of in a field. Then when we get very windy wet weather causing flood conditions the plastic seems to find it's way into the river system.
