A baby sea otter was found lost and alone in a harbour in Morro Bay, California, and was eventually returned to its mum by Marine workers in this heartwarming clip from February 5.

The baby otter, or kit, can be seen being held by a man and squealing before being tossed into the water towards a concerned-looking otter mum, who later was seen holding the kit close to her chest before swimming away.

The baby, spotted alone by one of the community’s commercial fishermen, got assistance from the Harbor Department, the Marine Mammal Center and Mike Harris of Fish & Wildlife.

In between cloudbursts yesterday, a baby sea otter was reunited with its mother.
