A wild monkey has become a local attraction at a village in Yadgir in South India.

The monkey, an Indian langur, has left its band and begun to live in the village preferring to keep human company.

It can be usually seen at the building of a local government office where the village men gather for idle chat when they are free.

The monkey sits quietly listening to them and even mimics the way sit - legs dangling and backbone straight.

It likes to get on to parked bikes and spent time sitting there. Many people visit the take selfies. The monkey patiently lets them click and even stares at the camera like oth4er human.

The monkey isn’t very fond of eating and accepts food only when it is hungry. When he does not feel like eating, he gently nudges the hand that offers food.

“It’s a strange monkey, but we feel like his is one of us,” says Suresh Hulkeppa, a local resident.
