Daring dog shows amazing balancing skills during joyride on back of vehicle

During a recent road trip to the Kruger National Park, we passed through a number of small towns in the Limpopo province of South Africa. These small towns on route are located in remote areas and usually host very interesting people combined with unique sights and experiences. While sitting in traffic to get through one of these towns we noticed a little pickup truck in front of us, fitted with self-made game viewer seats on the back. Right on top of the high row of seats, was a dog standing. Game viewer seats are nothing wider than thirty centimeters and just wide enough for a person to sit on. There was nothing preventing the dog to fall from that height down onto the road while the vehicle was moving. The vehicle was driving as if nothing and no one was on the back. Every time the vehicle went through a ninety degree turn at no slower speed than normal, the dog would quickly readjust its balance. The rest of the time the dog was standing upright, solidly balanced on all fours. We were totally amused by this sight. It was clear that this dog was no rookie and mastered great balancing skills over time in order to enjoy a daring ride out in the open fresh air. What might have looked daring and risky to us was most likely just another day in the dog’s life. With its ears flapping and the wind blowing through its fur, it did look like the dog enjoyed the freedom out in the open while driving around with its owner.
