A female leopard was tired of her mate ignoring her and repeatedly knocked the male to try and get his attention.

The footage filmed February 18, in Kruger National Park, shows the two leopards interacting in a rare sighting.

The filmer told Newsflare that it’s rare to see two leopards on safari together; “We were fortunate enough to come across a male and female leopard, lying on the sand of a dry riverbed. Both leopards looked tired, especially the male. Suddenly the female got up and approached the lazy looking male.

“It was clear that this female leopard wanted the attention of her male and she wanted it now. We were stunned by how adamant this female was to get her lazy male interested in her.”

After her advances were ignored the female ends up sitting on her mate and biting his head until he reacts.

Finding the elusive solitary leopard on safari is always special. Finding two leopards together is a truly unique and rare occasion. We were fortunate enough to come across a male and female leopard, lying on the sand of a dry riverbed. Both leopards looked tired, especially the male. Suddenly the female got up and approached the lazy looking male. It was clear that this female leopard wanted the attention of her male and she wanted it now. We were stunned by how adamant this female was to get her lazy male interested in her. She started off by rubbing herself against the male and repeatedly bumped against him. The male leopard gave a big sigh, not looking too impressed with the female. The leopardess was not going to give up. The begging became more adamant when the female started to jump on top of the male to really make him understand that he needed to drop his laziness and get up. Eventually she squeezed herself into a position to physically push the male to finally get onto his feet. Looking pretty disgusted, the male started to mate with the female. There were loud growling and snarling noises to intensify the moment. We couldn’t believe what we were looking at. At the end the male looked very much irritated and annoyed. He made it clear that he was done. After a last snarl in the female’s direction, the male moved off some distance to go and sleep in peace and quiet.
