This is the moment an enormous king cobra was captured in the Indian state of Odisha after it was seen trying to enter a home.

The 16-foot (4.9-metre) snake was spotted trying to crawl into a house in Khandabuda village in Mayurbhanj District on Sunday.

Staff from the Forest Department arrived, caught the enormous serpent and managed to place it in a wooden box.

The reptile was later relocated in Similipal National Park.

The king cobra is the world's longest venomous snake. Despite its fearsome reputation, it avoids confrontation with humans when possible.

16 feet King cobra Rescued from India

One rare more than 16 feet "KING COBRA" rescued by forest department of Similipal Tiger Reserve of Mayurbhanj district, Odisha.


Yesterday in "KHANDABUDA" village under Dukura Range of Similipal Tiger Reserve of Mayurbhanj district, one giant 16 feet King Cobra has been rescued by forest department after being called upon by the local of the village.

According to sources one more than 16 feet king cobra which has seen on a tree and trying to entered into a house of that village. At that time some local people informed to forest department. After information, rescue team rushed to spot and rescued the giant KING COBRA.

The King Cobra is more than 16 feet long and after rescuing department also released the snake in the deep forest for its existence in SIMILIPAL NATIONAL PARK.

The incident happened on 24 February in Mayurbhanj district Odisha India.
