A festival in north Vietnam tries to bring good luck to farmers in a rural province by parading around a hefty wooden phallus.

Footage captured on February 19 in Lang Son Province, shows four men
bearing the phallic wooden sculpture, sized about 130cm long, 20cm in diameter and weighing about 30kg.

The sculpture is then carried through the rice fields to pray for good crops. Then the phallic statue will be placed at the festival for visitors to visit and touch. It is believed that touching it will bring good luck.

This festival usually held in January of the lunar year, and is known as "Rước Tàng Thing" in Vietnamese. It is believed to have originated in the 15th century and has endured to this day.
