US driver hits snow drift and spins out of control following blizzard warning

Was driving east-bound on I-90 just past the Mt. Vernon exit. Sped up to 87 mph to more quickly pass a truck driving 84 mph. This part of the state was under a blizzard warning due to high winds blowing snow from the north, despite it being a sunny day out. This was causing several instances of snow drifts cutting across the northern-most lane. As I approached the overpass, I noticed one such drift, but both underestimated its depth and overestimated the height of my car. The left side of the drift was (naturally) deeper than the right, so it slowed the left side of my vehicle, causing it to break loose. I attempted to regain control, but ended up spinning out into the ditch. Luckily my vehicle was undamaged, and a tow truck was able to winch me out after a 75 minute wait and I could drive home.
