At least 18 people were injured in a grenade attack which rocked India’s Jammu and Kashmir state on Thursday. The incident took place at a bus stand in the Jammu region of the state.

All the victims have been moved to a hospital, reports said.

Visuals from the scene showed people lying on the ground, while locals are helping them with water. Several ambulances and vans carrying the victims were also seen. The blast site was strewn with broken glasses as policemen urged locals to stay away from the area.

Reports said the area has been cordoned off by officials, who have reached the spot.

The grenade was placed under a bus and casualties mostly included bus drivers and conductors. It is yet to be verified if the affected bus contained any passengers.

The attack comes exactly 21 days after an explosion in Pulwama region of the state ripped through an Indian Army convoy and killed at least 40 Army personnel. The Pulwama attack was claimed by Pakistan based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad.

No group has claimed Thursday’s attack so far.
