Shocking A priest fell from 20 feet as he was showing some play in southern India.

A priest, who could not forsee his own destiny, had a fatal fall from a 20-ft tree when he was soothsaying to devotees at a temple in Coimbatore.

The mishap occurred at the ayya samy temple in Sundakamuthur, near Perur, in Coimbatore on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

The old temple was run by priest Ayyasamy, who offered special prayers to the deity on full moon and new moon days.

Also, every year on the occasion of Mahashivratri, he used to perform special prayers at midnight at the temple and deliver prophecies to devotees sitting on the tree.

People in and around the area believe that the priest was able to forsee their future as he was possessed by the temple deity every year on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

This year too, devotees had turned up in large numbers to listen to him. They were shocked when ayyasamy, who was fervently soothsaying, lost balance and fell from the tree.

They rushed him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to grievous injuries.

The incidents happened on 04 March near Coimbatore Tamil Nadu India.
