Bull elephant unexpectedly interrupts cameraman's sunset photography session

My wife and I headed out one afternoon to photograph a breath-taking African sunset. We arrived at our favourite spot. My wife remained in the vehicle. A few meters away in the bush, I was getting comfortable on a little chair, adjusting the settings on my camera and finding the right angles. It was my lucky day, as I usually do something like this on my own. While fixated on the sunset, I suddenly heard my wife calling me in an urgent but calm tone of voice. I looked around and she pointed to the back of the vehicle. Less than ten meters away was a bull elephant slowly approaching. There was no time for me to pack up my equipment. The elephant would have spotted me on the ground and get there before I could get back. In a low moving position, I slowly got back onto the vehicle. The elephant saw me and curiously walked up to the vehicle. I took my wife’s camera and started filming. I knew that by now the elephant spotted my camera, conspicuously standing on the tripod. I feared for the worst, thinking the elephant will smash the strange looking object standing in front of him. The elephant walked up to my camera and stopped. He smelled it, then with his one tusk, pushed the tripod over. The camera fell and it was then that I thought the elephant will step on it. Again, it was my lucky day and the elephant slowly turned around and walked away. Our hearts were rushing and couldn’t believe what just happened. My camera survived the fall and after a few deep breaths, I managed to sneak in a few last-minute sunset photos.
