A man was lucky to survive a near fatal road accident, which was caught live on camera in southern India's Tamil Nadu state. The incident took place on Feb. 24 at around 6:52 p.m.

The footage, captured by a camera placed inside a four wheeler, showed the car speeding through a motorway when it nears a minivan carrying several passengers, mostly elderly women.

As it gets gets too close to the vehicle, the car fails to slow down and hit the minivan.

The impact is hard and throws throws the man out of his seat and on the road, while the other passengers get a jolt but remain inside.

The car stops and the man is seen standing up, but he quickly bends down, understandably reeling from the shock.

The minivan too almost toppled but somehow says erect and stops at a distance from the car.

People, both from the minivan and the surrounding area rushes towards the man to check on him.

Meanwhile, a man from the four wheeler gets sown to check on the damage his car sustained.

Though the extent of the damage is not clear, the bonnet of the car took a dent.
