In this heartwarming video, at least five kittens were rescued from an abandoned facility in western India’s Mumbai city. The operation was conducted by locals on March 8 in the city’s Jarimari area, located in Sakinaka region of the city.

Visuals showed a few locals breaking a lock of an abandoned police cabin. They then enter the facility and bring down a cot, exposing the kittens.

A young boy retrieves at least five kittens and carry them out. The kittens are then placed on the ground.

The operation was headed by Akhil Sheikh, who heard the kittens’ meow.

It is believed the mother cat had entered the abandoned cabin during her labour and later died inside, leaving the kittens on their own.

Fortunately, locals heard the calls and rescued them, saving them from death.

Since Sheikh broke the lock of the facility, he later replaced it with a new lock. The whole incident was later reported to the local police station.
