Internet user remotely helps robot escape demo room

An amusing video has emerged of an anonymous internet user manipulating a remote-controlled robot to escape from its demo room.

The video shows the moment an online prankster decided to guide a robot - made free to use for members of the public - out of the test lab in which it was housed.

The device was created by Ohio-based robotics company 'Double Robotics' with the aim of letting random internet users briefly take the controls of the machine.

When staff at the facility forgot to fully secure the door to the demo room, one audacious controller hatched an escape plan for the robot.

By repeatedly bumping into the ajar door, a sufficient gap was created to allow the robot through.

Once out of the room, the adventurous user then took a tour around the whole facility before returning back to the demo room and discreetly parking the robot back in its usual spot.
