A wild sloth bear was released back into the wild after getting caught wandering around a village in southern India.

Footage shows the moment the bear makes a mad rush to freedom after stepping out of a cage.

Residents of Kaikatti village called on forest officials after seeing a sloth bear walking around in the streets.

Forest officials rushed to the village and managed to capture the bear on March 23. The bear was later release in a forest nearby.

Tension prevailed in kothagiri area of Nilgiri District when the release of a Bear from the cage. The bear has tried to attack the Forest Department Vehicles. In S. Kaikatti, Kothagiri area of Nilgiri District a Bear has threatening the people's for the past 15 days. Also the bear has broken out the shops and houses. A cage was brought and kept to catch the bear. Fortunately the bear was caught in the cage. Forest officials decided to release the bear in the Korakunda Forest area 50 kms away from this site. When the bear released from the cage he tried to attack the forest Department Vehicles with roaring sound. The forest officials got feared and the bear went to the forest.
