This pool in Frisco, northern Texas, was pelted by hail on Sunday evening (March 24) as a series of severe storms moved through the area.

"Golf-ball-sized hail hit the backyard pool, making it look like either a frenzy of piranhas or that the pool was boiling," wrote the filmer.

There were reports that the storms packed hail the size of grapefruit in some neighbourhoods, smashing out windows to dozens of vehicles and damaging homes.

There have been no reported injuries so far by authorities as the weather became quieter going into the later evening hours.
