This is the dramatic moment oxygen masks were dropped after a plane experienced a sudden loss of cabin pressure.

Low-cost airline Scoot was flying from Singapore when it experienced difficulties during the descent into to Taiwan on Sunday (24/03).

Stunned passengers were told to pull down the masks and put them over their faces when they were deployed from above their heads at 1.15pm local time.

Footage shows confused passengers sitting in their seats unsure of what was happening. The Airbus A320 plane eventually landed without any injuries.

Scoot apologised for the incident and blamed the pilots for the activating the masks too hastily during the flight to Taoyuan International Airport.

A spokesman said: ‘’“preliminary investigations indicated that the operating pilots made some procedural decisions in the descent phase of the flight that contributed to a slight loss of cabin pressure.

‘’While the flight would have continued on safely, the operating pilots nevertheless decided to deploy the oxygen masks as a precautionary measure.

‘’The pilots will be undergoing retraining to address the gaps, and we apologise for the anxiety and inconveniences caused to passengers.’’

The airline said the plane had been grounded while engineers check its operating system for technical problems.
