Thousands of young people take to the streets in Berlin to protest inaction over climate change, lead by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg.

According to the filmer, the attendees chanted about positivity and love, which in the video can be roughly translated to "We’re not gonna be stand still, while you’re ruining our future" aimed towards politicians.

The video was recorded from a living room when the protest marched between Invaliden Park and Brandenburger Tor today (March 29).

It is estimated that around 25,000 young people were in attendance.

The protest has taken over social media under the name Fridays for Future.

The kids/teens chanted about positivity and love and something along the lines „We’re not gonna be stand still, while you’re ruining our future.“ meant for politicians and most old people who don’t support sustainable lifestyle, ideas, etc.


Depending on the sources, there were 10 – 25.000 people, mostly kids and teens, plus a few sympathising adults.


-Why this took place?

Because old-school and dogmatic politicians are lobbied by fossil fuel companies and Germany’s biggest employment and revenue sector: the automotive industry.

Almost all German car manufacturers have manipulated their cars to automatically fake their test results from emission tests, etc.

While e.g. VW had to pay billions of reparations to cheated US customers, Germans get nothing.

Additionally, most newly bought Diesel cars are now worth nothing when sold and are forbidden to drive in certain cities.

Germans watch for years how the government lets car manufacturers get away with it and recently instead of forcing them to build better cars, even raised the allowed emissions levels.

Fun fact: the EU is suing Germany now for disregard of EU emission laws.

This ist just one of many issues, but basically most Germans are fed up and Greta has inspired the youth to go out and protest about this.

We’re concerned, there’s no progress, our politicians are mostly corrupt and we had enough.
