Thirty firefighters were killed in a forest fire in southern China's Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture on March 30.

In the aftermath video, a cloud of smoke can still be seen rising in the distance and a helicopter dumps water in an attempt to put the fire out in the forest.

According to local reports, 689 firefighters were sent on site to battle the huge forest fire, and 30 of them were reported missing after a sudden change in wind direction which ignited a huge fireball.

The dead bodies of the 30 missing firefighters were all recovered, reports said.

3月30日17时 ，四川省凉山州木里县境内发生森林火灾。31日下午，消防和地方扑火队员共689人展开扑救，受风力风向突变影响，突发林火爆燃，形成巨大火球，27名森林消防指战员和3名地方扑火人员失联。截至今天18：30 ，在四川省凉山州木里县森林火灾灭火中失联的30名扑火队员的遗体已全部找到，包括27名森林消防指战员和3名地方扑火人员。
