Pickpockets caught stealing from tourists as they stepped off planes in Bangkok

Three pickpockets were arrested after stealing from tourists moments after they landed at an airport.

The Mongolian gang including two men and one woman based themselves in the arrivals hall at the Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok, Thailand.

Khishigbata Bold, 40, Turmunkh Burengargal, 41, and Ulzibayar Baterdene, 35, arrived each morning and targeted holidaymakers from around the world.

The group were caught on March 18 and confessed to police that the hustle had been going on for more than a month.

But the crime spree before German tourist Voker Mauss, 59, reported a missing wallet and officials identified the gang from CCTV.

Voker told officers on March 8 that his wallet containing around 300 EUR went missing when he was about to get in an airport taxi.

CCTV footage shows how three men and a woman followed the German from Gate 3 on the first floor of the passenger terminal to the airport taxi area on the third floor, where the woman was seen pickpocketing the victim's wallet.

Then, the suspects walked to the Airport Rail Link station before taking another wallet, containing 500 AUD and credit cards from Australian tourist Michael Williams.

The trio were eventually arrested on Monday (18/03) evening when landed at the airport for their next crime spree.

Foreign currency including 8,665 USD, 3,650 EUR, 900,000 YEN, 1,355 ARS, 400,000 VND and 500 AUD were also found in their bags.
