Spectacular drone video showed a unique tunnel carved through the side of a mountain connecting to a remote village in central China, known as one of "the oddest roads in the world".

The clip, filmed in Xinxiang City in Henan Province in 2016, shows the 1.2-kilometre-long, five-metre-wide and four-metre-high Guoliang tunnel that stretches through the mountain cliff face.

According to reports, Guoliang tunnel was completed in 1977 after five-years construction work.

It was manually built entirely by Guoliang villagers and is known as one of "the ten most advantageous roads in the world".

郭亮挂壁公路是河南省新乡市辉县沙窑乡郭亮村的一条挂壁公路，又称郭亮洞 ，郭亮洞挂壁公路，万仙山绝壁长廊，郭亮隧道，郭良隧道，郭亮村绝壁长廊，始建于1972年，1977年完工，全部由郭亮村村民独立手工完成，其中主要负责开凿的十三位村民被称为郭亮洞“十三壮士”。郭亮洞被称为“世界最险要十条路”之一、“全球最奇特18条公路”之一。20世纪90年代初，郭亮村开发旅游项目，现已成为国家4A级景区河南省辉县万仙山的第一分景区。
