Residents living in Dompu, Indonesia, are forced to escape their homes as flash floods hit the island of West Nusa Tenggara.

The video shows two men evacuate their home, wading through water almost as high as their heads.

The water came from the overflowing Silo River that flows through Dompu Regency. Three villages were drowned and thousands were displaced and evacuated.

West Nusa Tenggara Disaster Mitigation Board has said at least 230 houses were hit by the flood. Around 1,150 people had to evacuate due to the water that reached 2.5 metres high.

According to West Nusa Tenggara Disaster Mitigation Board, by April 4, 2019 at 8 p.m., at least 230 houses were hit by the flood. Two hundred and thirty families consisting of 1,150 individuals had to evacuate due to the water that reached 2.5-meter-high.

There have been no reports of casualties although the data collection is still ongoing.
