A carjacking suspected was apprehended by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday when he crashed into a fire hydrant before slamming into a wall during a police chase.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was sent to shut off the hydrant on South Buckingham Road which was sending a jet of water high into the air.

LAPD were in pursuit of a carjacking suspect in a grey Dodge Charger. The pursuit terminated when the suspect crashed into a wall and sheared a hydrant in the 3400 South Buckingham Road near Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles. LAFD was dispatched to shut down water to the hydrant that was spewing a large geyser and flooding the street. The suspect was taken into custody and the intersection is still closed pending the conclusion of the investigation. The carjacking possibly occurred on west 41st Street and South Gramercy Place
