Young wild elephant injured after being hit by truck crossing road in northern India
A shocking video showed how a wild elephant that was injured while crossing a road in northern India.
The elephant was filmed on April 6 lying prone and injured on the Derhradun-Rishikesh Highway that runs through Uttarakhand state, reportedly having been struck by a truck driving along the road.
The driver has been arrested and forest department officials have rescued the three-and-a-half year old male elephant, which is receiving ongoing treatment but is currently out of danger.
